What Do Most People Not Know About You?
First, that I love coffee. I make Cuban coffee every day around 2PM, and love to share it with coworkers and friends. Second, I have been on two boats that capsized in the open ocean (one fully sunk) and lived to tell the tales.
What Local Tip Would You Share With Jackson Hole Visitors?
Some of the best trails and sights are not in nearby Grand Teton or Yellowstone National Parks, but instead within 30 minute drive of downtown Jackson. My favorite hikes are the Granite Creek Trail to natural hot springs next to a waterfall, and Lavender Hills near Slide Lake in the Gros Ventre Mountains. Both are quiet, remote and not too far from Jackson.
As an Accounting Associate, Janet is responsible for bookkeeping and financial reporting for Willow Street client families, focusing on cash management, bill pay, and bank reconciliations. She also provides monthly financial reporting to Relationship Managers.
Janet has lived in Jackson for almost 30 years, and brings a strong accounting and entrepreneurial background to Willow Street. She founded and ran a bookkeeping services company, where she helped several local businesses become established and financially successful.
Janet earned a BS in Accounting from the University of Delaware, and enjoys fishing, skiing, and teaching her puppy new tricks with her husband.
What’s Something That Others Find Surprising About You?
I served on Jackson Hole Fire/EMS and the Teton Village Fire Department for over 20 years, retiring just this past summer. When I first joined the Department, I was the second female team member. The work was intense, and I loved helping people in our community. While I’m now retired, my “Fire Family” stays close to my heart, and I treasure the life-long friendships that I made.
What’s the Best Piece of Advice You’ve Ever Been Given?
“Do what you do best, and hire the rest.” This piece of advice has been invaluable throughout my career. When I started a business, I hired great people to help support me instead of expecting to do it all. So, if you’re a great plumber, don’t try to be the bookkeeper or equipment mechanic…you’ll waste your time and get frustrated quickly. Focus on being the best plumber out there, and hire others who are experts in their fields. This way everyone will be doing what they do best!
Please join us in welcoming Yvette and Janet.
