Willow Street Financial Services, LLC sponsored Teton County Library Foundation’s Page to the Podium series with Jess Walter. Jess is the author of New York Times Best Selling Novel, Beautiful Ruins, and many other works, including The Zero, which was a finalist for the National Book Award. Barbara Hoeft, President of Willow Street, has been a long-time supporter of the Library Foundation and has served as both the President of the Board of Directors and the Chairperson of the Endowment Campaign Committee.
“Jess Walter’s work is thought-provoking and meaningful while being both readable and entertaining,” said Ms. Hoeft. “He has a great sense of humor and his lecture last night and Q& A event this morning gave interesting insights into his progression as a novelist. It made me wish I’d taken notes so I could read every book and author he mentioned. We are so fortunate to have such extraordinary authors come to Jackson Hole and to have the many resources the library brings to the community. It is an honor to be a part of it.”
Jess Walter is the author of eight books. He’s been a #1 New York Times bestseller, finalist for the 2006 National Book Award and the PEN/USA Literary prize in both fiction and nonfiction, and won the 2005 Edgar Allan Poe Award. His work has been published in 30 languages and his short fiction has appeared in Best American Short Stories, Harpers, McSweeney’s, Esquire and more.
