John Morgan Gates and Erin Rosenberg Join Willow Street

Please join us in welcoming John Morgan Gates and Erin Rosenberg to the Willow Street team.

John Morgan Gates

John Morgan is responsible for managing bookkeeping and financial reporting for Willow Street client families, focusing on cash management, bill pay, and account reconciliations. He works closely with Relationship Managers to ensure our clients’ trust activity, no matter how unique or complex, is captured promptly and accurately, and distills their structures and investment data into actionable information.

Prior to joining Willow Street, John Morgan led program accounting and operations for Moondance Adventures, an international adventure travel company. In this role, he supported programming across Colorado, South Africa, and Italy.

Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, John Morgan earned his BS in Accounting with a minor in Finance from the University of Arkansas. In his free time, he enjoys biking, hiking, skiing in the backcountry, and playing both pickleball and tennis.

Before joining Willow Street, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

I led adventure travel trips with teenagers across three continents. It was an incredibly dynamic role that combined mentorship, logistics, and risk management in some of the world’s most beautiful and remote places. Each trip challenged me to think on my feet, foster group cohesion, and create meaningful experiences for students, often in environments with no cell service or backup plans.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Comparison is the thief of joy. Do not focus on what others are doing in life or what they may have, because we often suffer more in our imagination than in reality.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

The best piece of advice I have received came from my mother: “Where there is will, there is a way.” It’s a simple phrase, but it’s carried me through many challenging moments. The advice is a reminder that determination and perseverance can carry you through even the toughest challenges, and is a mindset that has shaped how I approach personal goals and professional challenges.

What would you most like to tell yourself at age 15?

I would tell my 15-year-old self not to let anyone else define who you are. Stay true to yourself, and to trust your instincts. Keep showing up, learning, and being yourself.

Please contact Willow Street if you would like additional information on any of the topics discussed herein.
