What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
My dad was a high school math teacher. On a visit to me in college, he shared that “life is like a sine curve — sometimes you’re below the x-axis and sometimes you’re above it.” This was his way of saying, “this too shall pass.” The memory and guidance has stayed with me during my career and as a parent.
What’s the favorite place you have travelled to and why?
On safari in South Africa we saw up close leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and other wildlife. The landscape was spectacular, and the people were warm and welcoming. We also visited Cape Town, which included a kayak trip to see penguins!
