Please join us in welcoming Melanie to the Willow Street team.
As a Relationship Manager, Melanie serves as a primary point of contact for client families, accountable for working closely with clients and their advisors, including legal, tax/accounting, investment, and banking leads. She is responsible for trust administration, financial reporting and analysis, cash flow management, and special projects. She is pursuing her certification as a Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA).
Melanie has over 16 years of experience in the financial planning and insurance industries. She joined Willow Street from Raymond James, where she spent eight years assisting clients in wealth management planning as a Registered Client Associate. Earlier, she worked for Northwestern Mutual in both Austin, Texas and Nashville, Tennessee. Throughout her career, Melanie has demonstrated an in-depth understanding of client relationships as she continually considers each family’s values and unique needs.
Originally from Atlanta, Melanie has called Jackson home for the past ten years with her husband and their two sons. She earned her BS in Natural Resources from Sewanee: The University of the South. In her free time, Melanie loves to exercise — especially running — and to spend time outdoors exploring Wyoming and the surrounding areas with her family.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
“How you start your morning sets the tone for the rest of the day.” I had always been a morning person, but that quickly changed when I had children. Suddenly, I was on the schedule of my two children every single day. To make time for myself, I set my alarm an hour early so that I was able to read, enjoy coffee, or go for a run. It wasn’t easy losing an hour of sleep, but slowly but surely, waking up earlier has allowed me to be more present and energized for my family and career.
What’s the favorite place you have traveled to and why?
My favorite place I have traveled to is New Zealand. I studied abroad in Australia in college and had the opportunity to spend three weeks on a tour bus traveling around New Zealand prior to returning to the US. I was by myself, and my parents were petrified, but it was an incredible experience. I was mesmerized by the rolling green hills and hundreds of sheep, bungee jumped from the third highest platform in the world, hang glided, and met locals and so many wonderful people on the tour. Traveling to New Zealand with my husband is now on my bucket list.
