What’s Your Favorite Way to Spend a Fall Day in Jackson
In the fall, I love a lazy weekend morning with an extra cup of coffee and home-cooked breakfast while the temperatures warm up. My husband and I then take our dogs mountain biking in Cache Creek or at Grand Targhee and enjoy the spectacular fall colors. We end the day at our favorite restaurant in town, Trio, for some blue cheese waffle fries, their pork special of the day, and a Sparkle Pony cocktail. Finally, home for an episode of Chicago Fire and early to bed.
If you suddenly found yourself with two hours of free time, what would you do with it?
I would spring my nephews from school and take them on an adventure. Depending on the season, we’d throw rocks in the Snake River, go for a horseback ride in Bridger-Teton National Forest, or carve some turns on the town hill, Snow King. No matter the adventure, we would end with a trip to Häagen-Dazs on the Town Square.

What’s your favorite local insider tip to share with visitors?
Jackson Hole has so much to offer visitors—breathtaking geography, wildlife galore, world-renowned skiing, and a gateway to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. With all of the obvious daytime outdoor activities, people often forget what the area offers when the sun goes down. On clear nights, the valley offers an unmatched view of the night sky; there are some truly breathtaking stargazing opportunities from Moose-Wilson Road or the Elk Refuge.
What’s the favorite place you’ve traveled to and why?
My wife and I were fortunate enough to stop by Tokyo for a few days on the way back from our honeymoon in Bali. Tokyo was a spectacular city and I was fascinated to learn more about its rich history and culture of respect, experience its top-notch sushi, and marvel at the similarities and differences between life in the US. When some sense of normalcy returns to international travel, Japan is at the top of my list to revisit.
Please join us in welcoming Payson and Stewart.
